Who We Are

We are the S.H.E.R.I.F.F. Fund

The S.H.E.R.I.F.F. Fund, which stands for the Sam Hicks Emergency Relief Interim First Fund, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting members of the King County Sheriff's Office, their families, and the broader law enforcement community in times of crisis.

Our mission is to provide emergency financial assistance through monetary grants, alleviating the immediate pressures of unexpected events such as medical emergencies, family hardships, or the tragic loss of an officer in the line of duty. By stepping in during these critical moments, we aim to enhance the quality of life for those who serve and protect, as well as their loved ones, throughout the State of Washington.

Founded on the principles of compassion, community, and commitment, the S.H.E.R.I.F.F. Fund is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors who work tirelessly to ensure that help is available when it’s needed most.

At its heart, the S.H.E.R.I.F.F. Fund is about family—the family we protect, the family we serve, and the family we become when we stand together in the face of adversity.

Whether you are here to seek assistance, offer support, or learn more about our mission, we are honored to have you as part of the S.H.E.R.I.F.F. Fund family. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who dedicate their lives to safeguarding our communities.
